What is Restorsea?
Restorsea is a clean physician dispensed skincare line. All products contain the hatching enzyme, Aquabeautine XL®* that is filtered from the hatching water of baby salmon.
This enzyme is better than any active ingredient Patti has ever seen because of its superior effectiveness and natural composition. She realized the opportunity to create a total wellness line superior to what is currently offered in the market.
Aquabeautine XL®*, is a novel hatching enzyme that salmon fry release at the time of hatching. Unlike a chicken that can peck its way out of its eggshell, a baby salmon cannot. When it is ready to be born, it releases an enzyme. This enzyme dissolves the eggshell membrane and creates an opening that the salmon fry can swim out of unharmed. When this enzyme comes into contact with human skin, it only digests the dead skin cells and leaves the living cells untouched. This means that the skin can receive ccontinuous and gentle exfoliation without any irritation.
The purity of our ingredients is what makes Restorsea ideal for every type of skin, including extremely sensitive skin. The line is formulated exclusively with natural ingredients and are free from chemical peptides and parabens, phthalates, PEGs, sulfates, silicones, and mineral oil.
All products are dermatologist-tested, hypoallergenic and non-comedogenic, and our eye cream is ophthalmologist-tested and is safe for those with sensitive eyes and/or those who wear contact lenses.
Restorsea products are cruelty-free. This means we never tests on animals and the enzyme is filtered from the post-hatching water without harming the salmon hatchlings.
Restorsea is proven to be superior to glycolic acid in terms of reduction in the appearance of brown spots and better tolerated (source: Journal of Drugs in Dermatology November 2015). It helps reduce the appearance of redness (source: Journal of Clinical and Aesthetic Dermatology October 2016).
All products are formulated with naturally-derived non-toxic ingredients and contain NO: parabens, phthalates, sulfates, silicones, PEGs or mineral oil.
Restorsea is unique in that it is one of the few independent brands that has invested over 50 million dollars in its technology. This enabled us to field clinical studies which have been published in peer-reviewed medical journals and support our 35 issued patents in 31 countries.

How the Enzyme Works
The hatching enzyme is too large to penetrate beyond the second layer of skin (see big blue dots below). The enzyme is designed by nature to digest only the dead skin cells because if it harmed living cells, it would damage the baby salmon. This is why when applied to human skin, the hatching enzyme sits at the “horny” layer of skin where it continuously digests the dead skin cells leaving the living cells untouched.
In contrast, retinols and glycolic acids (see small red dots below) are small molecules which work by chemically burning through layers of living and dead skin cells. This results in thinning the skin making it sensitive to UV light and results in the appearance of red and flaky skin.
